Rtd. Ref. George Saijah details the GFA’s outstanding debt to referees

Retired Premier League referee George Saijah has voiced deep concern over the GFA’s failure to fully compensate match officials over the recent years.
He attributes the mounting arrears to a serious financial oversight that threatens the integrity and smooth running of Ghanaian football.

1. Outstanding arrears:- 2014-2016 Seasons: Outstanding arrears.
– FIFA Development Levy via Football Associations (two seasons’ arrears).
2. 2024/25 Season
Officiating Allowance Breakdown:
– Premier: 22 weeks outstanding.
– Division One: 18 weeks outstanding.
– Women’s League: 6 weeks outstanding.
3. 2024/25 Cup Competitions:
– MTN FA Cup: Outstanding arrears (Round-64 to Final).
– Women’s FA Cup: No payment has been made.
