The National Day of Prayer should have been a national day for repentance by the NDC – Janet Nabila

Janet Nabila, leader of the People’s National Party (PNP), denounced the National Prayer Day, saying it should have been “National Day of Repentance” specifically for the ruling NDC.
She argued that, given the ongoing crisis over Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo’s suspension and probe, the political leadership has far more to repent for than to publicly pray about.
Nabila revealed that the PNP has submitted a formal petition to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, urging him to intervene.
The petition frames the President’s actions, forwarding petitions for removal and suspending the CJ, as politically motivated and an affront to judicial independence.
The PNP views this not as a routine policy disagreement but as a constitutional crisis layered with questions of gender justice, institutional integrity, and moral leadership.
By calling on both the public via radio and Otumfuo via petition, the party aims to elevate the issue from legal formality to national reckoning.
