Kofi Jumah legally bought the cars he’s been accused of stealing at GIHOC – His Lawyer Clement Opoku Gyamfi

Clement Opoku Gyamfi, Esq. has mounted a spirited legal defense of his client, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, insisting that the two vehicles in question were legitimately purchased and not stolen.

Last Sunday (June 29), national security operatives arrested Mr. Jumah at his Kumasi residence on allegations that he unlawfully retained two state-owned vehicles and was involved in broader asset misappropriation, including unauthorised sales of company property and staff roll inflation

According to the lawyer on Kessben FM, the two vehicles “were purchased” by Jumah under a policy that allowed him to buy official cars as per his terms of service. This applied specifically to a high-end Genesis G90 and an Audi, both acquired with formal board approval

The lawyer asserts that his client is entitled to buy the company cars under existing policy and that no theft occurred. He frames the accusations as a misunderstanding of policy, not a criminal scheme.

State authorities, meanwhile, are probing whether proper protocol was followed, including market-value assessments, board approvals, and the whereabouts of all involved assets.
