The NPP leadership should make sure that they crack the whip on Abronye – Mr. Kobby Amoah

A growing chorus within the New Patriotic Party ( N.P.P) is urging senior executives to take firm disciplinary action against Kwame Baffoe better known as Abronye DC after he was officially referred to the party’s disciplinary committee for “unguarded public comments “.
According to party documents, the move signals a tightening of internal discipline ahead of crucial primary events.
Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, has been singled out. The party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong announced his referral on June 24,2025.
Speaking to Kessben FM/TV, Mr. Kobby Amoah, a law lecturer, raised a point that ; “It is high time the NPP executives crack the whip on Abronye” by ” breaching directives of the National Council and making ” unguarded public comments “. The specific content of these comments has not been disclosed officially.
The decision was reached during a National Steering Committee in Accra. It will affect party processes at regional and national levels. The referral occurred on June 24,2025 . It follows a flurry of public statements by Abronye in recent weeks.
Mr.Kobby Amoah, a law lecturer, said, “The party must speak to Abronye so that he can stop making ” unguarded public comments” so that it will benefit the party and the National executives leadership should make sure that they must crack the whip on Abronye and not to support him in his recent comments about insulting the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party ( N.P.P), Justin Kodua Frimpong when he (Abronye) was summoned to meet the Disciplinary committee. ”
The Party wishes to remind members of their constitutional obligation to protect party unity, to abide by and publicly support the party’s decisions “, a statement on June 24,2025, General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong announced to warn such gathering risk sowing division as the party prepares for its presidential primaries in January, 2026.
He warned that the party and in particular the General Secretary should focus on ” regaining the lost glory of the party ” rather than pursuing what he termed ” unnecessary matters “.
