NPP Canada Branch Secretary Backs Calls for Inclusion of Former Polling Station Executives

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Canada Branch Secretary, Yaw Asirifi, has thrown his weight behind calls by Mr. Kwabena Agyepong to include former Polling Station Executives in the party’s limited expansion at the polling stations. In a statement released yesterday, Asirifi emphasized the importance of addressing the concerns raised by Agyepong, particularly with regards to the upcoming Delegates Conference.

Read full Statement below:

“Attention Fellow Executives,

Yesterday, I listened to Mr. Kwabena Agyepong on a couple of media interviews, and I also watched his engagements with Party members in the UK at Chapter meetings, and he raised very serious concerns that need to be addressed in the upcoming Delegates Conference. What do we stand to achieve as a Party when we don’t include former Polling Station Executives in the so-called limited expansion at the polling stations? Increasing the numbers from 5 to 7 doesn’t solve any problem at the polling stations. As a Party, if we are serious about winning elections, then our major focus should be at the polling stations where the actual grassroots mobilization happens. It is the chaos at the polling stations that cause the apathy towards the Party during national elections, and so until we cure this problem everything else is meaningless. It shouldn’t be difficult to include all polling station Executives from even 2012 till date if our Party leadership is genuinely concerned and interested in recapturing power in 2028. I’m hereby backing the calls by Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong to address the problem from the base of our Party, by including the former polling station Executives in the upcoming presidential primaries.

Thank you.

Yaw Asirifi
NPP Canada Branch Secretary”
