“You promised jobs, but you’re terminating appointments” -NPP Communicator, Jimmy Boakye Ansah

NPP communicator Jimmy Boakye Ansah has publicly accused President John Dramani Mahama of failing to deliver on his promises of job creation.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Kessben FM, Boakye Ansah expressed disappointment in what he described as a disconnect between the President’s campaign rhetoric and his actions since returning to power.

“While in opposition, John Mahama was loud and clear, he said he was coming to create jobs for the youth,” Boakye Ansah stated passionately. “But since assuming office, what have we seen? Terminations. People losing their appointments. That’s not job creation; that’s job destruction.”

According to Boakye Ansah, there is growing public concern that instead of implementing policies to reduce unemployment, the administration is engaging in actions that are putting Ghanaians out of work.

He cited recent high-profile dismissals and restructuring in some state institutions as examples, suggesting that competent individuals are being removed and replaced based on political loyalty rather than merit. “We cannot build a country on politics of revenge. If people are qualified and doing their job, why sack them? Is that how you create jobs?” he questioned.
