“Kennedy Agyapong has reformed, but he must be focused or will lose NPP flagbearer race” – Ziega

Political analyst and media personality Nana Frimpong Ziega has lauded Hon. Kennedy Agyapong for his personal growth and transformation over the years but has cautioned that without sustained focus and strategic direction, he will lose.
Speaking on Kessben FM Accra, Ziega observed that Kennedy Agyapong is no longer the fiery, unpredictable political figure Ghanaians knew in 2015, noting that the business magnate and long-serving MP has shown clear signs of maturity and rebranding as he eyes the top position within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“Kennedy Agyapong has reformed. This is not the same man we knew in 2015. He speaks with more clarity, he’s more composed, and his message resonates better with the base,” Ziega said during the Kessben Morning Show.
Kennedy Agyapong, known in earlier years for his hard-hitting, confrontational political style and controversial statements, has in recent times softened his tone and adopted a more policy-driven and statesmanlike posture.
Ziega highlighted that Agyapong’s recent public appearances have focused more on job creation, industrialization, discipline, and patriotism, rather than just political mudslinging.
Despite his positive remarks, Nana Frimpong Ziega issued a strong warning: the new Kennedy Agyapong must maintain unwavering focus, discipline, and strategic communication—or risk losing momentum ahead of the NPP’s presidential primaries.
Ziega also noted that other contenders in the race are equally experienced, well-resourced, and strategically positioned, so Agyapong must consolidate his grassroots appeal while building elite confidence
Ziega emphasized that emotions and crowd appeal alone will not win primaries. What is required is tactical engagement with delegates, building trust with party structures, and staying away from distractions that could erode his credibility.
