We need a leadership that is resilient, focused, security conscious, operationalized in tactics, and unified.

Former Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah, has stressed the urgent need for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to adopt a resilient, tactically-minded, and unified leadership as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Hon. Amankwah acknowledged a growing perception that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), currently in power, possesses significant financial resources heading into the election year. However, he emphasized that money alone should not determine electoral success.
“If it’s about money, then the sitting government, NDC, is the one that has it,” Amankwah remarked. “That’s why the NPP must wake up. We need leadership that is resilient, focused, security-conscious, operationally grounded, and above all, united.”
The former legislator, known for his sharp political commentary, argued that electoral success in 2024 will depend not just on resources, but on the strategy, organization, and unity of the opposition.
The NDC, now in power, is seen by many as having the advantages of incumbency, including greater access to state resources. However, the NPP, coming off a two-term administration, is determined to regain momentum and present itself as a viable alternative.
Hon. Amankwah’s comments come at a time when the NPP is undergoing strategic repositioning, amid leadership changes and efforts to consolidate party unity across the country.
