“Stop blaming (Efie Abayifuo) witches, Understand times and seasons to succeed” – Rev Vincent Kankam (Sofo Kankam)

Rev Vincent Kankam has called on Ghanaians to shift their mindset from superstition to strategic planning.

Speaking on Kessben FM’s Food For Thought on Wednesday, Rev Kankam challenged the popular tendency to blame witches and spiritual forces for life’s challenges.

“We must stop blaming witches for every misfortune,” he said. “What we need is wisdom to understand the times and seasons we are in, and to plan our lives accordingly.”

Rev Kankam emphasized that while spiritual matters are part of Ghanaian culture, they should not be used as excuses for a lack of progress.

He highlighted that many people attribute poverty, failure, and setbacks to evil spiritual forces, often overlooking poor planning, lack of education, and failure to adapt to changing circumstances as more practical causes.

Using biblical references and real-life examples, Rev Kankam explained that success often depends on having an understanding on what you set out to do and knowing the times and seasons. He encouraged individuals, especially the youth, to invest in education, financial literacy, time management, and skill development.
