Kofi Ofosu Nkansah exposes dishonest Former NPP Appointees bashing Bawumia

Former CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has taken a swipe at some former government appointees who he says are dishonestly presenting themselves as champions of the grassroots as they are campaigning for other candidates against former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the NPP flagbearer race.

In a post on his Facebook page, Nkansah described as “dishonest” the notion that most former appointees are aligned with Dr. Bawumia and are now positioning themselves as defenders of suffering party faithful.

“It is dishonest to create the impression that former appointees support Bawumia and that they were not good to Party People,” he wrote.

Nkansah pointed out that former appointees are supporting various candidates in the ongoing internal race and reminded the party base that not all of them were responsive or supportive during their time in office.

“Some never picked calls of party people but are now creating the impression in some camps that they are seeking power to liberate suffering Party People,” he noted.

The former NEIP boss also hinted at plans by some party insiders to actively remind grassroots members of the actions and inactions of these individuals when they held public office.

“We shall go round and remind the Party People of those who supported foot soldiers when they had positions,” he concluded.

Nkansah’s comments come amid increasing tensions within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the race to elect a new flagbearer heats up. While Dr. Bawumia is considered the frontrunner, other contenders such as Bryan Achaeampong and Kennedy Agyapong have garnered significant support, including from within the party’s rank and file.

His post adds to the growing intra-party debates around loyalty, legacy, and grassroots engagement, as the NPP prepares for what is expected to be a highly competitive leadership contest.
