Ghana Academic Professional Forum to host maiden press briefing on Wednesday

The Ghana Academic Professional Forum (GAP-F) is set to host a significant national press briefing on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra. The event, dubbed “Meet the Press,” will commence promptly at 10:00 a.m.

Held under the theme “Scorecard After 5 Months — NPP National Executives & Minority in Parliament,” the briefing aims to provide an objective and analytical assessment of the performance of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Executives and the Minority Caucus in Parliament since taking office five months ago.

In addition to the political performance review, the press engagement will feature discussions on other pressing national matters affecting governance, public policy, and the state of the nation.

This maiden edition of the GAP-F press series also marks the official and symbolic unveiling of the Forum to the Ghanaian public and media. According to the organisers, the event signals the beginning of the Forum’s active participation in national conversations on issues of academic interest, governance, and policy development.

In a statement by GAP-F media houses have been encouraged to assign correspondents to cover the event. The statement further urged journalists to arrive on time with their branded microphone logos to facilitate proper accreditation and coordination.

“Your presence and participation will add great value to the national discourse and ensure accurate dissemination of information to the public,” the statement said.

The Ghana Academic Professional Forum is an emerging think platform made up of researchers, professionals, and academics with a shared vision of contributing meaningfully to national development through evidence-based analysis and constructive engagement on policy matters.
