Bawku Conflict: Peace education curriculum to be introduced in schools – President Mahama 

President John Dramani Mahama has declared his intention to improve the country’s peace infrastructure, which includes equipping our chiefs with conflict resolution skills and implementing peace education curricula in our schools.

The president emphasized the implementation of peace education programs in schools and the provision of conflict resolution tools to chiefs as a means of bolstering the nation’s peace infrastructure.

The president pledged to support the efforts with targeted national interventions, such as investing in community-based early warning systems, collaborating with the National Peace Council, and providing logistical support for security services, while speaking at the “Thank you Tour” in Nalerigu, Northeastern region.

President Mahama reaffirmed that peace is necessary for all progress and cannot be compromised. He expressed appreciation for the traditional answers offered by the Nayiri and emphasized recent developments in bringing about enduring peace in Bawku.

In addition to announcing that the food trucks that were stranded had been safely transported to their destination, President Mahama has directed the Armed Forces to provide armed escort and security to vehicles going within the Bawku area.
