Kankam emphasized that the key to success in any area of life is not merely desire or ambition, but a solid foundation of understanding. “Anything you desire,” he said, “go get understanding before you venture in be it marriage, business, ministry, or education. If you want to succeed, you must understand it first”

According to him, you can’t build what you don’t understand. A lack of understanding leads to wrong choices, and wrong choices come with painful consequences.
He encouraged people to take time to learn, read books, seek mentorship, pray, and ask questions before making long-term commitments.
