Ghana Evacuates Citizens from Iran Amid Escalating Conflict

The Government of Ghana has announced the immediate evacuation of all Ghanaians living in Iran due to the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. In a press statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mahama Administration cited the need to protect Ghanaian lives as the reason for the evacuation.

The Ghanaian Embassy in Tehran has been closed with immediate effect to ensure the safety of embassy staff. The evacuation effort will cover all Ghanaian diplomats, students, professionals, and other citizens in Iran, with arrangements in place to safely transport them through land borders.

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian government is closely monitoring the situation in Israel and will provide further advisories shortly. In the interim, embassy operations in Tel Aviv have been scaled down to the bare minimum, and all Ghanaians in Israel have been advised to maintain close communication with the Consular Department.

The Government of Ghana has assured its citizens that it will spare no effort in protecting their lives and keeping them out of harm’s way. Ghana has also reiterated its call for both Israel and Iran to pursue diplomatic options and end hostilities.
