Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Ghana Praises Ghana’s Support for Peace Process

The High Commissioner of Rwanda to Ghana, H.E. Rosemary Mbabazi, has expressed her country’s deep appreciation to Ghana for its support to the peace process, which has contributed immensely to the progress made in Rwanda. She made this known during a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), on Monday, June 9, 2025.

Ghana’s Peacekeeping Support Commended

H.E. Rosemary Mbabazi highly commended the Ghana Armed Forces for their peacekeeping support, which played a significant role in saving lives during the genocide in Rwanda. She emphasized the importance of this support in strengthening relations between the two countries.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

The High Commissioner urged that the relations between Ghana and Rwanda be further enhanced through the establishment of a Permanent Joint Commission of Cooperation. This, she believes, would foster greater collaboration and cooperation between the two nations.

Ghana Reiterates Commitment to World Peace

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), acknowledged the good relations between Ghana and Rwanda and assured that Ghana would continue to strengthen its relations with Rwanda. He also reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to contributing to world peace.

The meeting highlighted the strong bond between Ghana and Rwanda, with both countries sharing a commitment to cooperation and mutual understanding. The establishment of a Permanent Joint Commission of Cooperation would further solidify this relationship, paving the way for greater collaboration and progress.
