MTN Ghana Launches 2025 Y’ello Care Outreach Programme

MTN Ghana  on Wednesday launched one of its flagship staff volunteering program popularly called Y’ello Care campaign.

This marked the beginning of a 21-day initiative themed “Connecting at the Roots – Connecting Communities through Digital Tools.”

The campaign, which runs from June 1 to June 21, 2025, aims to bridge the digital divide in underserved communities across Ghana.

Speaking at the launch in Kumasi, Nii Adotey Mingle, General Manager for the Northern Business District, explained that Y’ello Care is an employee volunteerism initiative by MTN Group and focuses on some key areas such as;

Digital Inclusion:
Equipping schools and community youth centers with devices and digital literacy workshops.

Community Empowerment:
Deploying community Wi-Fi access points and supporting digital entrepreneurship.

Financial Inclusion:
Establishing all-in-one Y’ello Pods as digital hubs for learning and financial services

Mr. Adotey Mingle proudly listed the campaign’s impact areas as:

Education:
Enhancing access to digital tools and literacy.

Healthcare:
Leveraging technology for improved healthcare access.

Economic Opportunities:
Supporting micro-enterprises and digital entrepreneurship.

Agriculture:
Empowering young agri-preneurs with cutting-edge technology.

Corporate Services Advisor:
Mrs. Charity Darko, Corporate Services Advisor for the Northern Business District mentioned that in the Ashanti Region, MTN will organize mobile phone repair training for the youth, providing them with a means to earn a living.

She disclosed that the initiatives include:

Driving a mobile ICT van to educate students in selected schools, equipping them with the digital skills needed to thrive.

Delivering digital skills training to youth, women, and persons with disabilities, empowering them to participate in the digital economy.

Providing school uniforms for needy pupils, removing barriers to education and promoting inclusivity.

Empowering communities with the tools to thrive in the digital world, bridging the gap between rural and urban areas.

Promoting smart farming practices for women in the Northern Region, enhancing agricultural productivity and food security.

Introducing insurance for mobile healthcare, ensuring access to quality healthcare services for our people.

“Through these initiatives, we’re not just connecting communities – we’re building a brighter future for all,” she emphasized.

Agyenim Boateng, Ashanti Regional MTN ICT Center Manager at Nyinahin, commended MTN for bridging the digital gap in the country.
