BREAKING: This is why late Pooley’s case has been postponed to 7th July 2025

The ongoing trial concerning the tragic death of Francis Yaw Frimpong, affectionately known as ‘Pooley’, has been adjourned to July 7, 2025. The Sunyani District Court announced the postponement after today’s sitting, citing the need for a forensic report from Accra to proceed with the case.

Pooley was fatally stabbed during a Ghana Premier League match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC on February 2, 2025, at the Nana Koromansah II Stadium in Nsoatre. The incident led to the arrest of several individuals, including Iganatius Baffour Awuah, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa (known as “Akosua Black Chinese”), Yaa Asantewaa, Agyemang Duah Owusu (a police inspector), and others as suspects

Speaking on Kessben TV, Samuel Sarfo Duku, the lawyer representing both Asante Kotoko and the family of the deceased, explained that the adjournment was necessary to allow the court to receive the awaited forensic report. He emphasized that the report is crucial for the progression of the trial and for ensuring justice is served.

The delay has been met with mixed reactions from the public and supporters of Asante Kotoko, who continue to demand swift justice for Pooley. The Ghana Football Association and the Ghana Police Service have pledged to continue their investigations and ensure that all responsible parties are held accountable.

As the legal proceedings continue, the Porcupine Warriors and the broader football community remain united in their quest for justice for their fallen supporter.
