Treat people without high qualifications well, Sometimes our lives depend on our drivers, chefs, security, etc. They could be our Joseph – Rev Vincent Kankam (Sofo Kankam)

Speaking to the theme, finding our Joseph, Rev Vincent Kankam emphasized the crucial, often overlooked roles that people in everyday service professions play in our lives.
Rev. Kankam stated, “our very lives sometimes depend on our drivers, our cooks, our security guards people who may not carry impressive academic titles but who hold our well-being in their hands.” He drew a powerful parallel to the biblical figure Joseph, whose rise from slavery and imprisonment to becoming the second most powerful man in Egypt was orchestrated by God, not through worldly credentials, but through divine purpose.
According to him, your driver, cook, etc., may not possess any high qualification that same person might be the reason you arrive safely home. Your cook may have never seen the inside of a university, but that person is entrusted daily with your health. Don’t despise them. Don’t look down on them. They could be your Joseph.”
Rev. Kankam likened this biblical narrative to how modern society should perceive those in humble roles not as insignificant, but as potentially pivotal to our survival, growth, or even salvation.
Sofo Kankam’s message has sparked reflection across social media and Christian circles, with many praising the reminder to treat everyone with respect and honor, regardless of their social or educational background.
He added that we should be careful how we treat those people we think are beneath us, stressing that they may be our bridge to the next level. They may be your lifeline. They may be sent by God.
