Open Letter to Mrs. Joyce Attefuah from Yusif Tahiru Adams, Communication Director, NPP Asante Akim South

Dear Mrs. Joyce Attefuah,

Good morning. I am Yusif Tahiru Adams, Communication Director of NPP Asante Akim South. As I have been unable to reach you by phone, I am writing to bring this matter to your attention.

Your station, Ahwenepa 95.5 FM’s recent actions and statements have raised serious concerns. Notably, the station described the very communicators who worked tirelessly for the Party’s victory in 2016 and continue to serve diligently as “substandard,” thereby justifying our exclusion from the station’s political program. Assuming this narrative to be true, it begs the question: What prevented you and your husband, who have benefited significantly from the party, from organizing capacity-building training to upgrade the skills of these communicators? Instead of attributing our exclusion to alleged affiliations with Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, as you’ve reportedly claimed to the Vice President’s office, it appears your station’s actions are a deliberate ploy to sabotage the party. This seems to be a clear agenda to cause further confusion within the party.

You may recall our conversation a few months ago regarding the issues between the Communication Directorate and Ahwenepa FM. During our discussion, you assured me that you would prevent the host from misrepresenting the party’s communication team on the program and promised to provide topics even if the host didn’t. However, after our conversation, you became unresponsive to my calls, and the station subsequently blocked our team from appearing on the program entirely.

Given your assurances and the subsequent events, it appears that you may have been part of a scheme to marginalize the hardworking Communication team members who contributed to the party’s 2016 victory. It’s disheartening to see you treat these individuals, who worked towards your husband’s appointment, in this manner. The circumstances make it difficult to exonerate you from these allegations.

Sincerely,
Yusif Tahiru Adams
Communication Director, NPP Asante Akim South
