Kessben Sports report indicates Razak Abalora is set to return to Asante Kotoko – Checkout full details

Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora is reportedly set to rejoin the club for the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. This move comes as current first-choice goalkeeper Frederick Asare’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current season.
Abalora, who was born on September 4, 1996, began his professional career at West African Football Academy (WAFA) before moving to Tanzanian side Azam FC in 2017. In 2020, he signed with Asante Kotoko, where he played for two seasons and established himself as a key figure in the team’s defense. In January 2022, Abalora transferred to Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol, and later joined Albanian side AF Elbasani in August 2024 .
Frederick Asare, who has been with Asante Kotoko since 2021, has been a standout performer for the club. He was named the Premier League Goalkeeper of the Month in December 2024 and earned his first call-up to the Ghana Black Stars for international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda . However, with his contract expiring at the end of the current season, the club faces a decision regarding his future
The potential return of Razak Abalora is seen as a strategic move by Asante Kotoko to bolster their goalkeeping options. Abalora’s experience in European leagues and his previous tenure with the club make him a valuable asset. His return could provide competition for the starting goalkeeper position and add depth to the squad.
