Ougadougou 2025: Kalibi SC Female Volleyball team shines in Zone 3 Championships

The tenacity of the female side of the Kalibi SC Volleyball team was brought to bear on Wednesday when they beat their counterparts Asec Mimosa of Ivory by three straight sets to nil.
The team which started the competition on Tuesday with a three sets to nothing against a strong Burkinabe team, went into Wednesday’s games with a strong conviction to win by leading the Ivorian side from the first set to the third.
Led by their captain Aminata Solama, the team showed class by ensuring that every serve was saved and chances taken to ensure the held on to their advantage.
Despite attempts by Asec Mimosa to cause an upset in the third set, Aminata and her colleagues held till the last minute to round it off with a 25 to 22 against the Ivorian side.
PROTEST AGAINST REFEREE
Prior to the start of the game against Asec Mimosa, Kalibi SC led by Coach Danladi Abdul-Rahaman protested against one of the referees.
The team accused the official of bias due to his actions in an earlier tournament and some comments he allegedly made on Tuesday against the Ghanaian team.
After minutes of staying off the court, leadership of the Zone-3 Volleyball Association convinced the team to play which eventually saw them rescind their decision.
The Zone-3 Clubs competition has 9 female clubs participating from, Burkina Faso, Benin, Ivory Coast and Ghana.
