16.40kg of Cannabis Seized at Kotoka International Airport

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a 46-year-old Ghanaian woman at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) after discovering 16.40 kilograms of cannabis concealed in packages she had received.
Intelligence-Led Operation
Acting on intelligence, NACOC officers intercepted the cargo at the consolidated cargo section of Swissport and, upon inspection, uncovered the compressed cannabis hidden within personal items.
Suspect Arrested and Substance Seized
The suspect was immediately taken into custody and is assisting with investigations, while the illicit substance has been seized for further examination.
This seizure highlights NACOC’s continued efforts to combat narcotics trafficking in Ghana. The investigation is ongoing.
