Aowin Traditional Area Seeks Intervention Over Illegal Chief Installation

The Aowin Traditional Council in the Western North region has sounded the alarm over the alleged illegal installation of a chief in the area, which they claim poses a threat to peace and stability. At a news conference, Nana Kwame Nkansah II, Chief of Jomoro and Spokesperson of the Acting President of Aowin Traditional Council, called on national security and state security agencies to intervene.

Allegations Against the Self-Styled Chief

The Traditional Council alleges that Thomas Antwi-Agyei, who styles himself as Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, has perpetrated criminal activities in the area and is currently wanted by the court. Nana Kwame Nkansah II also accused Antwi-Agyei of installing rival chiefs and imposing illegal curfews, which tarnish the image of the traditional area.

Call for Justice and Intervention

The gazetted and approved chiefs of Aowin Traditional Area are calling for justice and inviting state security agencies to intervene to restore calm and peace in the area. They claim that the installation of Antwi-Agyei was orchestrated by politicians and is a threat to the traditional council.
