Narawa Mining Company Rubbishes Claims of President’s Brother’s Involvement in Operations

Narawa Mining Company Limited has categorically denied recent allegations linking Mr. Alfred Mahama, brother of President John Dramani Mahama, to its mining operations.

In a media engagement, the company’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Adjei Baffour Acquah, dismissed the claims as “false and baseless,” describing them as part of a smear campaign driven by envy over the company’s success and legal compliance.

“Some individuals, out of envy, have resorted to spreading misinformation about our company,” Mr. Acquah stated. “When we began operations, there were already mining companies established under a previous government. These companies attempted to disrupt our activities on our legally acquired concession.”

He explained that a change in government allowed Narawa Mining to operate without undue interference, a development he said has drawn resentment from competitors who have struggled to make similar progress.

“In their frustration, they have fabricated stories, including false claims that Mr. Alfred Mahama is involved in our operations. We categorically reject these allegations,” he stressed.

Mr. Acquah also underscored the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible mining. He noted that Narawa Mining has constructed its own dam for mineral washing, a move designed to prevent pollution of nearby rivers and promote sustainable practices.

He concluded by calling on the President and relevant regulatory authorities to acknowledge the company’s adherence to lawful and environmentally sound mining.

“We urge others in the mining industry to emulate our methods. This is the path to protecting the environment and preventing needless destruction of property,” he said.
