It’s not everything that we did right, and I render an unqualified apology to our party and the nation – Dr Bawumia at NPP UK Branch AGM 

At the New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK Branch’s Annual General Meeting, held over the weekend, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s 2024 presidential candidate, rendered an unqualified apology to Ghanaians on behalf of the NPP for the party’s inability to secure victory in the 2024 general elections.

Dr. Bawumia, who was the guest of honour at the event, acknowledged the disappointment felt by party faithful and supporters across Ghana and the diaspora. In a candid address, he said

He described the loss as a humbling experience but one filled with lessons, reflection, and renewed purpose. Dr. Bawumia commended the efforts of party members, campaign teams, and volunteers who worked tirelessly across the country, noting that while the outcome was not what they had hoped for, their dedication would not go unnoticed.

Despite the setback, Dr. Bawumia struck a note of optimism regarding the future of the party. He urged members to remain united and focused, declaring his strong belief that the NPP will return to power in 2028.

The NPP UK Branch AGM was well-attended by members of the Ghanaian diaspora, party executives, and sympathizers, who praised Dr. Bawumia for his humility, honesty, and forward-looking message. The event served as a platform not only to reflect on the past but to chart a new course for the future.
