United Nations Nominate Nana Agyemang Abbeam Danso as Brand Global Ambassador

Nana Agyemang Abbeam Danso has been appointed to become the brand global Ambassador for United Nations to Ghana. Aim to empower the young people by enhancing their role in driving global efforts to promote a peaceful, just, and sustainable world.

This initiative of UN seeks to strengthen commitments at the global, regional, and national levels to meet young people’s needs, realize their rights, and recognize their positive contributions as agents of change.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Accra as Brand Global Ambassador for United Nations Nana Abbeam Danso Agyemang emphasized to encourage meaningful youth involvement in decision-making processes and global efforts.

He clarifies that the responsibility is not solely theirs but extends to leading a group of people, including the media, clergymen, and constituencies across Ghana and globally.

“This responsibility, not for only me. I am just a leader who is going to lead a group of people such as you, the media, and then also the Nananom, the clergymen, and then everybody. So as we are already been doing this program.” He stressed.

Nana Abbeam affirmed UN commitment changing lives, transforming people, is also something going to embark on using the same form of strategy, using the media and using constituencies across Ghana and the globe to make sure people lives are changed one at a time.

“ Under his leadership as UN Global Ambassador in Ghana, pledged to provide opportunities for decent work and economic growth. Promote and protect the rights of young people and foster peace and stability through youth-led initiatives.” He disclosed.

The Ambassador emphasized the importance of engaging young people in the work of the United Nations and ensuring the organization benefits from their views, insights, and ideas. By empowering youth, the UN aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and build a better world for future generations.

He further advised the youth against focusing solely on money, suggesting that solving problems and serving people is more important. He believes that by addressing problems and serving others, financial success will follow naturally.

He encourages the youth to create solutions that address global issues, rather than focusing on accumulating wealth.

“ Money does not belong to anybody. Money is not the main thing that people should focus on, if you really want to excel in this life, the most important thing you should focus on is serving people solving problems. If you are able to solve problems and serve people, that is when you can be able to get money out of your understanding.” He advised the youth.

Her Excellency Rev. Lilian S. Addo , Global President for the International Youth Network UN Security Council emphasized the importance of the International Union network and the United Nations Security Council resolution 2250, adopted in 2015, which aims to include young people in decision-making to prevent conflicts.

She highlighted that many conflicts are triggered by adults, but it is young people who often end up on the battlefield, underscoring the need for their representation.
