Ghana Police Service Nabs Notorious Armed Robbery Suspect

The Ghana Police Service has announced the successful arrest of Adinda Akpo Abdou Moudjibou, a notorious armed robbery suspect who had been evading capture for months. Moudjibou, also known by several aliases, is believed to have been behind a string of high-profile robberies in elite residential areas in Accra between 2022 and 2024.
International Cooperation Leads to Arrest
The suspect was arrested in Lomé, Togo, on January 30, 2025, following a collaborative effort between the Ghana Police Service and the Togolese authorities, facilitated by INTERPOL. A warrant for his arrest was issued by the Adabraka District Court on September 5, 2024, and he was subsequently listed on INTERPOL’s Red Notice.
Handing Over Ceremony
On May 14, 2025, a Ghanaian delegation led by DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), traveled to Lomé to officially receive Moudjibou from the Togolese authorities. The handing over ceremony was attended by officials from the Ghana Embassy in Lomé and the Togolese police team led by Commissaire Principal de Police Assi Elo Ani.
Regional Cooperation
The Ghana Police Service commended the Togo National Police Force, INTERPOL Lomé, and officials of the Ghana Embassy in Togo for their invaluable support and collaboration in this operation. This success highlights the importance of regional cooperation in tackling transnational crime and bringing offenders to justice.
Ongoing Investigations
The suspect is currently assisting investigations, and efforts are in place to apprehend remaining suspects who are at large. The Ghana Police Service assured the public of their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all persons in the country.
Message to Suspects at Large
The Police Service warned all suspects at large that they will be tracked down and brought to face the law. “To all suspects at large, know that we are coming for you, and surely, we will get you arrested to face the law,” DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor stated.
