Former Accra Hearts of Oak CEO, Harry Zakour, has expressed his optimism over the club’s performance in the current Ghana Premier League season. Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM, the veteran football administrator highlighted the club’s improvement compared to the same stage last season.
“Last season by now, we were battling relegation,” Zakour recalled. “This time we are sitting sixth on the table. It’s progress, and I hope we finish in the top four.”
With just four games remaining in the 2024/25 league season, Hearts of Oak are indeed in a significantly stronger position than they were a year ago. The club, which has a storied history in Ghanaian football, struggled with inconsistency last season, raising fears of a rare relegation scare. However, under new technical direction and improved performances, the Phobians have climbed to sixth place and are within striking distance of a top-four finish.
Zakour, Known for his passionate leadership during his tenure, which saw Hearts claim the CAF Champions League title in 2000, Zakour remains a respected voice in Ghanaian football circles. His support may serve as motivation for both players and fans as the season nears its climax.
