“We are not happy at all – Winger Sulemana Hakim

Ghana winger Hakim Sulemana has expressed his disappointment after the Black Satellites’ defeat to Egypt in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations at the quarterfinal stage.

Sulemana, came off the bench in the second half and was rewarded the MVP award after putting up an outstanding performance at the Suez Stadium.

“I think we came all out. It’s always hard when you are 2-0 down and then coming up. We gave all our hearts, and that’s where we wanted to get the win, but unfortunately, we didn’t have luck on our side, we tried our best, that’s what matters,” Sulemana said.

“The aim was to qualify for the World Cup, and after qualifying, we get to win the trophy, but unfortunately, of course, we are not happy. We are out at the quarterfinals. We are not happy at all.”

The Black Satellites suffered a 5-4 on penalties to host Egypt after 2-2 draw in regulation time.

The match had ended 2-2 after 120 minutes of action, with Egypt advancing to the semifinals of the tournament.

The Black Satellites failed to secure qualification to the U-20 FIFA World Cup in Chile, which is coming in September 2025.
