A New Era in Passport Delivery

In an interview with the media, Minister Ablakwa expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the passport reforms, which aim to reduce the processing time for passports and eliminate the need for applicants to visit the Passport Application Center multiple times. He noted that the new system allows for passports to be delivered within 15 working days, and the passport head office will operate 24 hours, consistent with President Akufo-Addo’s 24-hour economy vision for Ghana.

No More Frustration, No More Middlemen

A Commitment to Convenience and Respect

He noted that the packaging of the passports is waterproof and fireproof, ensuring that the documents are protected from damage. The Minister emphasized that the government’s commitment to convenience and respect for the citizenry is at the heart of this initiative.

No Extra Cost for Delivery

When asked about the cost of delivery, Minister Ablakwa explained that the government has worked out a sharing formula with Ghana Post and private partners, ensuring that the delivery service comes at no extra cost to Ghanaians. He emphasized that passports are essential commodities, not luxury products, and should be accessible to all Ghanaians.

A Successful Implementation

The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of the passport reforms, which have been designed to make the application process more efficient and convenient. He thanked the media for their support and assured Ghanaians that the government will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the passport application process is stress-free and accessible to all.
