Ghanaian legend Wilberforce Mum passed away at age 88

Asante Kotoko legend Wilberforce Mfum has sadly passed away on Sunday, May 11, 11, 2025 at the age of 88 after an illness.
Mfum featured for Asante Kotoko in 1968, he played for the Baltimore Bays of the National Professional Soccer League in 1969, and he joined Ukrainian SC of the German American Soccer League.
Mfum played for the Ukrainian Nationals of the American Soccer League in 1970/71 season, he shared the ASL scoring title with Juan Paletta, before joining New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League.
Mfum was part of Ghana’s 1963 history team that secured the Africa Cup of Nations trophy after beating Sudan in the finals.
He was part of the team that represented Ghana in the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964.
