“Create space before you ask for more” – Rev. Vincent Kankam

Rev. Vincent Kankam, speaking on Monday’s edition of his Food for Thought show on Kessben FM, delivered a profound truth that challenges the way we approach growth, fulfillment, and spiritual readiness.
He reiterated that you have to create space before you ask for more, adding that you have to give out from your old stock to receive new ones.
Just like a farmer clears the land before planting, or a homeowner declutters before renovating, we too must prepare internally and externally for the next phase of our journey.
In spiritual terms, it’s about surrender, letting go of what’s outdated, unnecessary, or even excessive. In practical terms, it might mean reevaluating priorities, shedding old habits, or giving away what we no longer need.
He said giving is not just an act of kindness; it’s a statement of readiness. It tells the universe — and more importantly, it tells God, that we trust in His ability to replenish, to upgrade, to renew.?
He stressed that as you plan your next steps, whether spiritually, professionally, or personally, ask yourself: Have I created the space to receive what I’m asking for? And more importantly, What can I give from my “old stock” to make room for something greater.
