No Leader Should Shield Culprit in Stabbing Incident – Dr. Charles Dwamena

The National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Charles Dwamena, has called on party leadership not to shield anyone found culpable in the recent stabbing incident linked to internal party activities. He stressed that the rule of law must prevail and that justice must be served without bias or interference.

Speaking on Kessben TV’s Maakye Morning Show, Dr. Dwamena described the incident as “unfortunate” and urged the appropriate authorities to conduct a full-scale investigation. He emphasized that any individual found responsible must be prosecuted and face the full rigors of the law.

“We cannot condone violence of any sort within the party. The right thing must be done. The person responsible must be brought to justice,” he stated firmly.

Addressing broader issues within the party, Dr. Dwamena admitted that the NPP is currently facing several internal challenges. He noted, however, that steps are being taken to address them constructively.

According to him, resolving the issues requires both collaboration and personal accountability. He highlighted the importance of assessing individuals based on their responsibilities and contributions to the party’s work.

“This is a collective effort, but individual performance must be evaluated. Everyone must be assessed based on their contributions,” Dr. Dwamena added.

His comments come at a time when tensions are rising, especially after the incident that occurred during the party’s thank-you tour.
