NAP: Free Training with Stipends, Tool Kits, Professional Certification Included- Mahama Assures

President of the Republic of Ghana H.E John Dramani Mahama has announced that , the participants of the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) launched on 30th April, 2025 will be given stipends, tool kits , and professional certificate.
“Each apprentice will receive a stipend, an allowance for transport so that it can take you to work.” President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has announced.
The allowance will facilitate participants’ daily commute to the various workplaces.
Speaking at the official launch of National Apprenticeship Programme at University of Development Studies (UDS) held in Tamale earlier today, he mentioned that equipment will also be provided to support the apprentices.
“My children, my students, my youths. Now this part is interesting. Each apprentice will receive a stipend, an allowance for transport. You will receive an allowance so that you can use it to make Mahama can do to work. You will also receive starter tool kits so if you want to become a seamstress, you will get your pair of scissors, your tape, your needles and all the things you need to start how to work.” He highlighted.
In addition, trainees will receive certificates that validate their professional skills and expertise upon completion.
“At the end of the programme, you will be given a certificate and that certificate shows that you are professionally qualified in the trade that you went to learn. And you can use that certificate if you want, to find a job or go into self employment.” He added.
He noted The National Apprenticeship Program is designed to be inclusive, and government have said that at least 45% of the apprentice trainees must be women or girls children.
He further said at least 5% of the apprentice trainees must be persons living with disability, He emphasized special attention will be given to marginalized and vulnerable groups across the country.
