CONVENTION PEOPLE’S PARTY PRESS RELEASE – MAY DAY 2025 COMMISERATION MESSAGE

Thursday, 1 May 2025

Today, May 1st, 2025, is a day of Celebration for the hardworking masses of this dear country, Ghana. It is a day of test and reflection, on how we can continue to contribute to our collective well-being, and undoubtedly, the well-being of the yet un-born.

Our dear Comrades, you have worked so hard, and without you, there would be no country. Even as we celebrate this day, and in the wake of the Bawku Crisis and Galamsey menace, we take solace in the foundation laid by our dear Osagyefo, let us remember all he did for Ghana, which has proved to be in its best interest. It is a good time to reap what the Osagyefo sowed, and continue to contribute our quota, and continue to share ideas, to support the Reset Agenda, and take the Nation forward.

You deserve the best, dear Comrades. You deserve the best. Mother Ghana, with its Unity, and hardworking and intelligent citizens, deserves the best. Don’t be swayed by the wanton destruction of our environment by the illegal mining menace, continue to fight it, and avoid all forms of corruption and illegal get-rich-quick schemes.

The current Government has so far shown that it has progressive plans to revive this country, and the CPP will continue to keep an eagle eye, to praise when necessary, offer constructive criticism when unavoidable, and propose solutions always, as it did with the previous Government. We in the CPP believe that the Country comes first, and will continue to pursue that agenda.

Concerning Galamsey, it is obvious that the current Government is making headway, but the CPP urges that a bit more speed and sternness be applied, as every second of this menace causes irreversible environmental damage and long-term economic malaise and food security problems, due to the degradation of our water bodies, fish stock, and farmlands.

The CPP urges all well-meaning Ghanaians who love this country to continue to be the kindly light, leading the fight against corruption at their workplaces, and whenever they see something, to say something.

Ayekoo, gallant workers FORWARD EVER! BACKWARDS NEVER!!

Yours Comradely,

Comrade Wing Commander Patrick Nelson Sogbodjor (Chairperson & Leader)

The CPP’s message emphasizes the importance of unity, hard work, and collective effort in building a better future for Ghana. The party acknowledges the progress made by the current government but also calls for more decisive action to address the galamsey menace and promote environmental protection.
