Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong Does It Again: One Million Reasons To Believe In True Leadership

In yet another bold demonstration of loyalty, sacrifice, and unshakable love for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Ken Ohene Ohene Agyapong has donated a staggering One Million Ghana Cedis (GHS 1,000,000) to the National Executives of the NPP to pay staff salaries at the party headquarters — once again proving that his commitment to the party transcends personal ambition.
The donation comes at a time when the party is facing financial strain, and just like he has done on countless occasions in the past, Hon. Agyapong stepped forward—not for praise, not for optics, but for the survival and sustenance of the party he has served for decades.
So profound was this gesture that the General Secretary of the party, upon receiving the donation, called him “Mr. President” — a symbolic acknowledgment of a man whose deeds continue to echo the leadership the party so desperately needs.
Media Interaction: A Call for Unity and Fairness
Shortly after the donation, the media caught up with Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong to ask how the NPP can return to power in 2028. His response was as blunt as it was truthful:
“Without unity, even if Jesus Christ Himself comes, we cannot come back. Not in a situation where it’s okay for some party executives and MPs to publicly support one candidate, but when others declare support for me, they are summoned before the Disciplinary Committee.”
He went on to caution that such blatant displays of internal bias threaten to destroy the very fabric of unity the party needs after the internal contests. He pleaded with the National Executives to be fair, bold, and just, adding:
“Should this continue, it will be difficult to call for unity after this internal election.”
Leadership in Deeds, Not Words
This latest act is yet another in a long line of contributions — financial, moral, and political — that Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong has made to the NPP. He has funded grassroots campaigns, resourced constituencies, spoken truth to power, and protected the party’s dignity even when others turned their backs.
As the NPP approaches a critical point in its journey, party faithful, especially at the grassroots, must begin to reflect: Who shows up when the party is in crisis? Who gives without expecting anything in return? Who still believes in the party’s soul when the applause is gone?
It is time for the party to rally behind true leadership, not only in word but in action. Let this moment reignite the conversation, awaken the base, and most importantly, remind us that unity, fairness, and courage are what will return the NPP to power — not intimidation or selective loyalty.
Indeed, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong has done it again — and maybe, just maybe, the title “Mr. President” is no longer just a symbolic statement. It’s a reflection of the kind of leadership the party — and the country — deserves.
