President Mahama Calls for Prayers to Guide National Development and Overcome Challenges

President of the Republic of Ghana H.E John Dramani Mahama has called prayers to guide national development and overcome challenges.
Speaking at the Jubilee House today during the inauguration ceremony of National Prayer and Thanksgiving committee emphasized that, the development as a nation must rest on the foundation of faith, morality and accountability. He said If we are to conquer the many challenges confronting us like unemployment, economic hardship, moral decay, environmental degradation, we must do more than just debate and legislate. We must also pray. We must humble ourselves before God and commit our plans to him.
President Mahama cited Holy Quran in Sura Al Baqarah 2, verse 286, and he says that Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear, a verse that speaks directly to the resilience and strength of the Ghanaian spirit. And also in the Gospel of James, Chapter 1 , verse 5 , the Bible tells us, and let if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generally, to all without reproach.
According to President Mahama, our strength as a people is therefore not just in our resources, but in our ability to trust in God through every storm and every season, in our churches, our mosques, our shrines and homes.
“ Ghanaians know how to call upon the name of the Lord, and he has never failed us. Let us therefore pray for our children that they may be guided in truth and equipped for a future of promise. Let us pray for our youth that they might find meaningful work and reject the temptations of despair. Let us pray for our men and women in uniform, that they may serve with courage and compassion.” He stressed.
“Let us pray for our teachers, doctors, our farmers, nurses, artisans, that the work of their hands may prosper our nation. And let us pray for our leaders, that they may lead not with pride but with humility and reverence for God and yes, let us pray for ourselves that we may choose justice over corruption, we may choose peace over conflict, and we may choose unity over division.” President Mahama called for.
President Mahama continued , one of Ghana’s greatest blessings is the harmony with which we practice our diverse faiths, Christians, Muslims, traditionalists, we worship differently, but we work together as one people. He mentioned this is a national treasure that we must never take for granted in a world where religion often divides, in Ghana, we shine as an example of our unity in diversity.
“Again, the Quran in Surah Al-Hujurat, Chapter 49 verse 13, reminds us, oh my kind, we have created you from male and female, and have made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one other, another. Indeed the most noble of you, in the sight of Allah, is the most righteous. And again, in the holy book, the Bible, in Romans, 12 verses 18, the Bible says, if it is possible, as far as it depends on you. Live at peace with everyone.” He added.
