NPP National Youth Organiser Warns Against Unlawful Arrests, Calls for Action on Galamsey

The National Youth Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has cautioned the government against unlawful arrests, stating that any attempts to do so will be strongly resisted. Speaking at a press conference in Accra today, Mustapha accused President John Mahama of using the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) to illegally arrest NPP members.
“We deeply regret the actions of the government, which seem to be targeting our members without justification,” Mustapha said. “Such witch-hunting activities cannot be allowed to continue.”
Galamsey: A Pressing Issue
Mustapha also highlighted the growing concern of galamsey and illegal mining activities in the country, which he described as getting out of hand. He urged President Mahama to take immediate action to address the issue.
“Galamsey is a pressing issue that requires urgent attention,” Mustapha emphasized. “We charge the President to declare a state of emergency to end these illegal activities.”
Call to Action
The NPP’s National Youth Organiser made it clear that the party will not stand idly by if unlawful arrests continue. “Attempts of any unlawful arrest will be strongly resisted henceforth,” he warned.
The NPP’s stance on galamsey and unlawful arrests underscores the party’s commitment to protecting its members and addressing pressing national issues. The situation continues to unfold, with many watching closely to see how the government responds to the NPP’s demands.
