Per the performance of Kotoko now, supporters must be filling the stadium – Kwaku Amponsah K5 appeals to Kotoko fans to attend games

Former Asante Kotoko supporters’ chairman, Mr. Kwaku Amponsah, popularly known as K5, has made a passionate appeal to fans of the Porcupine Warriors to rally behind the team by showing up in their numbers for home games.

Speaking in an interview with Kessben TV, the outspoken former supporters’ leader expressed concern over the low turnout at Kotoko’s matches in recent times, despite what he describes as an impressive improvement in the team’s performance.

“Looking at how the team is playing now, this is the time the supporters should be filling the stadium,” K5 said. “The players are putting in the effort, the results are beginning to come, and yet the stands are not as full as they should be. It’s disappointing.”

K5, known for his passionate leadership and tireless efforts during his time as chairman of the supporters, reminded the fanbase that the strength of Kotoko has always been in its massive support. According to him, the current generation of players need to feel that same love and energy from the stands to push them further.

His call comes at a time when many Ghanaian clubs are struggling with low match attendance, a trend that has affected the atmosphere and revenue of local football. K5 believes that reversing this trend begins with the fans rekindling their passion and making the Baba Yara Stadium the fortress it once was.

With Asante Kotoko currently chasing success in the Ghana Premier League, K5’s message is a timely reminder of the crucial role the 12th man plays in the journey for the club to win the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League as they lead the league table with 46 points after 25 games.
