In Ghana, most of the people who know you from the beginning become very worried & troubled when you start to become successful in life, Soldier on – Rev Kankam tells Ghanaian Youth

Rev. Vincent Kankam has touched on an essential topic that resonates with many in Africa especially in Ghana, the challenges of dealing with people’s reactions when you begin to achieve success.
Rev. Kankam explains that most of the people who have seen you struggle, grow, and evolve may find it challenging to adjust to the changes that come with your success. Success can sometimes evoke feelings of jealousy, fear, or insecurity in others, even if these reactions are unintentional. Some may feel left behind or threatened by the changes, leading them to express their concerns or doubts about your new path.
However, Rev Kankam emphasizes that these reactions are natural, albeit not always helpful. “People who have been with you since the beginning may not immediately understand the transformation you’re going through. They may question your new direction, or even try to hold you back,” he says. Despite this, he insists that individuals should remain focused on their goals and not be swayed by the reactions of others.
While navigating the complexities of success, Rev. Kankam stresses the importance of maintaining focus and staying true to your purpose. He encourages listeners to stay grounded in their vision, even when others may be hesitant or doubtful. “It’s important to stay focused on your vision, despite the noise and distractions around you,” he advises.
For Rev. Kankam, the key to overcoming these challenges lies in perseverance. He speaks to the power of inner strength and determination, which allows individuals to stay committed to their goals despite external pressure. He believes that successful people must learn to block out negativity and stay aligned with their long-term objectives.
