Sometimes our EXCO meetings travel as long as 6-8 hours. We use so much data on Zoom meetings without getting any credits from anyone – GFA, EXCO member, Oduro Sarfo

Oduro Sarfo, a member of the Executive Council (EXCO) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the tireless efforts that go into the governance of Ghanaian football.
According to Sarfo, the EXCO meetings, which are crucial for decision-making, can sometimes last up to 6-8 hours, requiring a significant amount of time, energy, and, unexpectedly, data bundles.
“Sometimes our EXCO meetings on Zoom go on for 6 to 8 hours. These are crucial discussions that impact the future of Ghana football. We use so much data bundle on such, and no one provides us with recharge credits. It’s a significant cost that we all bear,” Sarfo said during the interview with Kessben TV.
The virtual meetings, though necessary to keep the GFA’s operations running smoothly, come at a price, and the members have had to absorb the financial burden. While the use of technology has made it easier to convene meetings remotely, it has also introduced unforeseen complications, particularly when the meeting times are prolonged.
Sarfo, however, emphasized that despite these challenges, the EXCO members are fully committed to the cause of Ghana football.
Sarfo urged fans and stakeholders to understand the dedication of the EXCO members, reaffirming the shared commitment that fuels their ongoing efforts to elevate the sport in Ghana.
