Mahmud Kabore, the Dean of Ashanti Regional Communications Officers for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised concerns regarding the handling of recent allegations about drug trafficking at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

Speaking on Kessben TV’s Maakye show, the outspoken communicator criticized the Ghana Airport Company (GAC). He questioned the transparency and efficiency of the authorities in addressing serious allegations surrounding suspicious flights linked to drug trafficking. Specifically, he targeted the Managing Director of GAC for remaining silent despite the rising concerns.

“This is gross incompetence on the part of the Head of Ghana Airport Company. She needs to be fired by the government,” Kabore said.

Kabore expressed his frustration that, despite the significant attention surrounding the two mysterious flights that landed at KIA, Ghanaians are yet to hear an official statement from the Airport Company. He described this silence as not only disappointing but also alarming. “At a time when our international image is at stake, the leaders of such critical national institutions have remained silent. This is unacceptable and raises more questions than it answers,” he added.

Furthermore, Kabore urged the government to hold public officials accountable to ensure that such allegations are thoroughly investigated and addressed. He reiterated the NDC’s commitment to advocating for transparency and integrity in all facets of governance.
