We played better than Kotoko, but unfortunately, we could not take our chances – Oduro Sarfo

In a post-match interview following his team’s narrow 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko on Wednesday, Nana Oduro Sarfo, the CEO of Berekum Chelsea, shared his thoughts on the match and the performance of his team. Despite the defeat, Sarfo was candid in his assessment, stating that Berekum Chelsea played better than their more famous opponents but, unfortunately, failed to capitalize on the chances that came their way.
Kotoko’s victory, courtesy of a single goal by Andrien Adjetey, sent them to the top of the Ghana Premier League table, a result that has given their title ambitions a significant boost. However, Nana Oduro Sarfo maintained that his team deserved at least a point from the encounter, believing their overall play was superior but marred by missed opportunities.
“We played better than Kotoko on the day,” Sarfo said, reflecting on the performance of his side. “But football is about taking your chances, and unfortunately, we couldn’t convert the opportunities that came our way. Kotoko may have won, but we showed that we are capable of competing with the best teams in the league.”
The match, which took place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, saw Kotoko edge past their opponents with a solitary goal, which proved enough to secure all three points. The result propelled Kotoko to the top of the Ghana Premier League table, putting them in a strong position in the race for the title.
As for Kotoko, their victory solidified their position at the top of the league, keeping them in the hunt for the Ghana Premier League title. However, the Porcupine Warriors will no doubt be aware that the competition remains fierce, and their narrow win against Berekum Chelsea serves as a reminder that every match in the league is fiercely contested.
