Be resolute in your leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces- Mahama urges New Chief of Defense Staff

President John Dramani Mahama has urged the New chief of Defense Staff, Major General William Agyapong to exude the highest standard of professionalism in his leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces.

According to him, this will enable the Ghana Armed Forces defend the nation’s democratic rule.

He said this when new chief of the defense staff, Major General William Agyapong and his team paid a complimentary visit to the presidency.

“I hereby charge you to discharge your duties with fear or favour. You have my full backing and support. Be resolute in your leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces. Effect courageous changes based on professionalism if the need be. I need you to work as a loyal, dedicated and united team of generals led by Major General William Agyapong, the chief of Defense Staff” he explained.

He also took the opportunity to congratulate the Veep, Professor Jane Naana Opoku- Agyemang, on her position as the first female chairperson of the Ghana Armed Forces.
