Young Apostles 0-0 Kotoko: If Asante Kotoko is really thinking of playing in Africa then they need to do more and up their game – Andy Kerm

Kessben Sports pundit Andy Kerm has urged Asante Kotoko to improve their performance if they are serious about competing in Africa’s prestigious club tournaments.

Andy Kerm made this statement following the Porcupine Warriors’ 0-0 draw with Young Apostle on Wednesday, a result he believes exposes the team’s current shortcomings in preparation for continental football.

The highly anticipated match ended in a goalless stalemate, leaving many fans and analysts questioning the readiness of Asante Kotoko for the Africa club competitions, particularly the CAF Champions League.

Andy Kerm, who has closely followed Kotoko’s performance over the years, did not hold back in his assessment of the team’s performance. He pointed out that the 0-0 draw with Young Apostle, a team that does not typically feature in the upper echelons of Ghanaian football, raised serious concerns about Asante Kotoko’s readiness for the high stakes of African competition.

“If Kotoko is truly thinking of competing in Africa, then they need to do a lot more than what we saw in this match,” Kerm said. “A goalless draw against Young Apostle, especially when you are aiming for African glory, is simply not good enough. They need to up their game, work on their tactical approach, and improve their finishing.”

Andy Kerm emphasized that Asante Kotoko must take a serious look at their current form and ensure that they are not complacent, particularly with the Africa Club competition in mind. He noted that while domestic games are important, African competitions require a level of intensity, precision, and consistency that Kotoko have not yet demonstrated in their recent outings.
