MP Mahama Ayariga Condemns Military Brutality in Bawku

The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, has strongly condemned the military’s brutal treatment of innocent civilians in Bawku on the night of Tuesday, March 18th, 2025.
While expressing regret over the accidental killing of a military personnel by an unknown gunman, Ayariga denounced the military’s actions, stating that beating and ransacking innocent civilians is unacceptable.
Ayariga urged the leadership of Bawku and the military to collaborate on investigating the killing, rather than resorting to violence. He extended condolences to the bereaved family and sympathized with the victims of military brutality.
The MP emphasized the need for the rule of law to prevail and called for caution from all sides. He expressed confidence in the Asantehene, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, to bring a peaceful resolution to the situation in Bawku.
