I did not say we are not going sign players who have children but said we won’t sign players who have 2 or more children – Founder of Young Apostles, Peter Domfeh

Peter Domfeh, the founder of Young Apostles Football Club, has recently addressed the controversy surrounding his club’s recruitment policy regarding players who have children.

Domfeh clarified that the club has never outrightly stated they would not sign players who have children, but rather, their policy is focused on players who have two or more children.

Speaking in an interview with Kessben TV following a backlash to earlier comments, Domfeh explained that the decision was rooted in the practical realities of managing players’ responsibilities.

Domfeh’s clarification helps to frame the policy as a decision made with the best interests of the team in mind, aiming to keep the focus on performance while being mindful of the demands placed on players both on and off the field.

However, as the football community watches closely, it remains to be seen how this policy will be received in the long term and whether it will have any impact on the future recruitment strategies of other football clubs in Ghana.
