Pooley’s Death: “I was out of the jurisdiction, not to campaign for a slot on the CAF Executive Committee but to work for the FA and to attend to my medical needs” – Kurt Okraku

Kurt Okraku, president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has denounced the violent incidents that resulted in the death of a football supporter in Nsoatre.

On February 5, Francis ‘Nana Pooley’ Frimpong was fatally stabbed during the Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman and Asante Kotoko.

On Thursday, February 20, 15 days after the catastrophe, Okraku made his first visit to Kotoko to offer their condolences.

“When the incident [Nana Pooley’s death] happened, I was out of the jurisdiction, not to campaign for a slot on the CAF Executive Committee but to work for the FA and to attend to my medical need,” he said.

“We have lost a dedicated and passionate soul which is irreplaceable and this is not acceptable.”
