VRA Ladies Association Throws Weight Behind Obeng-Kenzo’s Appointment

The Ladies Association of the Volta River Authority (VRA) has come out strongly to deny media reports suggesting that they disapprove of Ing. Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo’s appointment as Acting Chief Executive. In a statement, the National President of the VRA Ladies Association, Lady Susana Araphua Van-Brocke, firmly dismissed the claims, describing them as baseless and false.
The Association has instead officially congratulated Ing. Obeng-Kenzo on his new role, expressing full confidence in his leadership. A nine-member delegation from the Association’s national executive met with the Acting Chief Executive to assure him of their support and reaffirm their commitment to the authority’s success.
Speaking at the meeting, Accra Area President Lady Gloria Tagoe highlighted the Association’s ongoing efforts to empower and upskill women within the VRA, ensuring they are prepared for leadership positions. She called on Ing. Obeng-Kenzo to support their initiatives, which aim to promote gender equality and inclusivity within the authority.
In response, Ing. Edward Obeng-Kenzo expressed gratitude for the Association’s warm reception and pledged to continue building upon the achievements of his predecessor. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration, calling on all VRA staff, particularly the Ladies Association, to work together towards achieving the authority’s shared goals and strengthening the institution.
The VRA Ladies Association’s endorsement of Ing. Obeng-Kenzo’s appointment is a significant boost to his leadership, and it remains to be seen how he will work with the Association to promote gender equality and drive success within the authority.
