Interior Minister Commends Police Professionalism, Unveils Security Initiatives

Ghana’s Interior Minister, Honorable Mubarak Muntaka, has praised the Ghana Police Service for their professionalism and dedication to duty, particularly during the 2024 elections. Noting that not a single gunshot was fired by a police officer throughout the process, Muntaka commended the police for their exemplary conduct.
During his visit to the Police Headquarters, Muntaka outlined several initiatives aimed at enhancing the police service. These include:
Comprehensive Review of National Security Architecture: A thorough examination of the country’s security framework to identify areas for improvement.
Insulation from Political Interference: Measures to ensure the police service operates independently, without undue influence from political forces.
Human Resource Audit: A review of the police service’s human resources to optimize personnel deployment and development.
Increased Women’s Representation: Plans to boost the number of female police officers, promoting diversity and inclusion within the service.
Revamped Public Order Management Schools: Upgrades to training facilities to enhance public order management capabilities.
State-of-the-Art Technology: Introduction of advanced technology to support police operations and improve efficiency.
Muntaka pledged to support the police in maintaining law and order, protecting lives and property, and ensuring the safety and security of all Ghanaians. His visit to the Police Headquarters demonstrates his commitment to working closely with security agencies to achieve the government’s goals.
